Ian's 1st Scholarship

Ian entered an essay contest at the Castle Rock Bank for 4th and 5th graders in our school district. The prize is a $300 scholarship towards his college savings fund. He and his dad worked on it together and submitted it a few weeks ago. This past Friday he got a letter in the mail from the bank.
When he got home from school he opened it up at the table and stood there and stared at it as he read it over and over. Then he looked at me and said, "Does this mean I won". Sure enough....he did. We go to an awards banquet in a couple weeks where he will receive the $300 award!
Hopefully there are more of these in his future!!! We are proud of you Ian!!

Pinewood Derby Hall of Fame

We began the Pinewood Derby Hall of Fame 3 years ago and tonight just inducted our most recent member....the Batmobile and its owner and pit manager...Ian & Scoty.
They raced tonight! I let Ian tell you about it.

It was straight black car with authentic battle damage and great aerodynamics. Throughout the races I got 4 first places,1 second place,2 third place, and 1 fourth place. In the end I was in the top four fastest cars for the race that the winner would get the gold.I watched carefully to the end of the track and guess what...I WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so happy to have won the last pinewood derby I'll ever do. It just stinks though I can't ever do another pinewood derby.I hope the other kids enjoy next year and what ever other years some of the kids might have.It was so fun the past 3 years to do the pinewood derby.

Ian turns 10

I can't believe I have a 10 year old!!!
He is the best though. He is thoughtful, kind, a good friend, and a great big brother. He had an Extreme Birthday Party at Aunt Brogan's gymanstics gym. He and his friends and cousins had a great time pounding on one another and doing team challenges.

Well I don't scrapbook....

.....So I might as well start blogging. With the ability to publish it, it sounds like a much better option that pulling out all the cute papers, tiny buttons, silky ribbons and ink stamps that I purchased over the years in an effort to capture some of the greatest moments.

Now the problem won't be, will I ever get the scrapbooks finished, it will be....can I keep up with this.....hmmmmm.
